More than 120 cyclists attended the last year's XC race in autocamp Kanegra
near Umag, Croatia. Roland Stauder (ITA) and Birgit Braumann (AUT) won
the event in Elite and Women cathegory

Buje
is situated some 10 kms from Umag - a traditional Croatian tourist
destination.
Acommodation
will be arranged in Umag. It offers the convenience of many small
touristic coastal towns nearby, with some extreamly challenging
terrain close by.
The
course is situated right next to the center of Buje, a small town
in the inner Istria.

Note
of interest: Umag is a traditional tennis ATP Tour venue. In nearby
city of Porec a traditional MTB stage race "Parenzana" is held.
In 2001. Parenzana will include one UCI "E1" PP event.
Istria
is the leading Croatian tourist destination. It stands for 45 %
of Croatian tourism. Although only 200.000 of Croatian 4,5 millions
inhabit this area it can host up to 213. 000 guests daily. In terms
of pernotments we realise more than 14 millions, and about 2 million
guests per year.
